Inside the Olive Oil Ceremony
The Olive Ceremony unfolds over ninety minutes as a gentle but profound journey through story, stillness and the senses. It begins with the olive tree itself, its extraordinary history, its sacred place in human civilisation, and the remarkable living properties held within a single drop of quality oil. Woven through this is an understanding of its living compounds, its healing properties, and why none of that survives the mass production process. An invitation to feel the weight of something ancient before you taste it.
Two oils are tasted here, side by side, so guests can feel the difference for themselves before the ceremony truly begins. By the time the ceremonial oil arrives in their hands, they already know, this is not olive oil as they have ever known it.
From here, the ceremony moves inward. Guided by Shaun's own experience of crossing the threshold between life and death during a Near Death Experience, returning irrevocably changed, guests are led into a deep meditative state, not to escape the body, but to fully arrive in it. To rest, beneath the noise of thought, in the quiet that was always there.
At the heart of the ceremony, guests receive a small glass of an exceptional, high polyphenol olive oil. Single origin, cold pressed and unadulterated. Held in the warmth of both hands, warmed slowly and finally tasted with full intention and in complete presence.
The oil that reaches the lips has been grown, harvested and pressed by human hands, driven by love over everything else. Every decision along its journey was made in service of purity. When it enters the body, it is already working. The natural compounds within it actively defending, healing and restoring. Guests are guided to feel this. To know, without thinking about it, that they are alive and that this moment is all there is.
Born from stillness.
I didn't come to this work through training or a course.
In 2020 I had a near-death experience that immediatly changed everything. The person I thought I was fell away and what remained was something unexplainable and unavoidable. A stillness. A knowing. A feeling of being completely, unconditionally alive and Whole.Â
After the experience, my practice became something else entirely. Not something I did. Something I lived. Every morning, every day, every night, every breath became an opportunity to return to that place, the quiet beneath the noise, the self beneath the mind made 'I'.
The Olive Ceremony grew from that place.
I wanted to find a way to help give people a direct experience of what I feel. Not through more words, more techniques or more mental concepts but through something embodied, something ancient, something real. In the most life sustaining action, eating, combined with the life sustaining liquid that is Olive Oil. Used in ritual for thousands of years. Pressed from the fruit of trees that have outlived entire civilisations.
When you sit in the ceremony I guide, I am not performing. I am sharing the only thing I know to be true. That beneath everything you think you are, there is something boundless, peaceful and whole. That life is not something happening to you. You are life, happening.

Meditation is a non-negotiable. It is as important as sleep. And to sit, with your entire being resting, even for 15 seconds is beneficial. Dedication to spiritual practice is the way. You must devote yourself to it, entirely. Meditation isn't sitting down and closing your eyes and shutting the world out. Meditation is Being. It's who you are. You are meditating walking, talking, eating and working.

Olive oil is not a product. It is mother earth's elixir, the nectar of life. It carries the endurance of ancient trees, the passion of the farmer, centuries of sacrifice, and the finished gift of a living liquid that literally sustains the living body. When we bring this into stillness, into ceremony, something shifts. The mind quiets. What remains is you, boundless, eternal, whole.
